I heard about the Fallenfest festival through Thomas, a friend of mine trumpetist in Stoned Popes. Fallenfest is a competition for upcoming bands in Paris and its area. They get to play at really nice venues as they progress through the competition, and this year, the final leg was at La Cigale, a major venue in Paris.
I was lucky enough to follow Stoned Popes throughout the day, starting backstage in the afternoon and finishing when the winners got announced. As it turns out, they were the winners, so bravo again to them.
I also took pictures of some of the other bands, and I will dedicate another blog post to those, along with the shooting notes of the night (teaser: I used the Nikon 80-400 f/4.5-5.6 which you wouldn’t really classify as a ‘live music’ lens).
